Songbird Hills Golf Outing–June 28, 2003
The Fourth Annual Mercedes-Benz Club Golf Outing was held at the
Songbird Hills Golf Club on Saturday, June 28th. Twenty three (23)
of us showed up by noon to watch the rain come pouring down on
the course until about 12:15 pm, at which time we could see blue
sky returning to the western horizon. The decision was made to
start the game, and then abort if the rain started up again. Well,
the rain faded, and the weather got better and better all afternoon
as we played our 9 holes.

The Wolfgram team, consisting (L to R) of Gordy, Bill Beitz, Marc,
and Marc's son-in-law Brian Jambretz won first place. They received
Mercedes Golf Classic gifts for their win.

Left to right, Ron and Pat Sdun, and Linda and Jim Stowell placed
second, only one stroke down from the Wolfgrams. They each received
certificates for 18-hole golf rounds at Songbird Hills.
Linda Ebert, Frank Lubinski, JoAnne Peterson and Jim Stowell all
won prizes for the closest shot to the pin and the longest drive
for women or men. Frank Lubinski hit a magnificent drive on the
8th hole which went many yards past the marker left by the previous
long ball hitter. Frank's drive went so far down range we had to
call NASA to retrieve the ball !! (I know because I was there
! - JZ)
After the game, we all retreated to the clubhouse for dinner and
drinks, which consisted of brats and barbequed chicken with all
the trimmings. Door prizes were handed out to all attendees after
dinner. Judging by the comments I got, everyone had a great time.
Thanks to all the golfers for making it a great event again this
year.
