2011 Report from the President Print E-mail

The Club’s Annual Business Meeting was held after the Rallye at Libby Montana’s restaurant. About 24 people were in attendance to hear the Treasurer’s report, the Secretary’s minutes of the 2010 Annual Meeting, and to elect 3 board members to positions which expired in 2011. Jim Pittelkow, Frank Lubinski, and Rod Sdun all had positions on the board of directors which expired, and all three gentlemen were running for terms. The vote was unanimous to elect all three to the next 3 year terms, running from 2012 through 2014. The Treasurer, Frank Lubinski, reported that the club assets were $8,290.40 as of September 30, 2011.

After the Annual Meeting, the board of directors met to vote on the officer positions for 2012. The changes to the current roster this time are minimal, with Andy Stockhausen moving from Vice President to President, and Jerry Zajicek going to the Vice President’s position from President. Frank Lubinski and Dan Hellenberg will continue to serve as Treasurer and Secretary respectively.

We have a different kind of Christmas celebration this year, a tour of the Pabst Mansion and a brunch at the world famous Mader’s Restaurant on Old World Third Street. The price is lower this year, but the food portions will not be less. We have a special price for the house tour, and the club will again be subsidizing the meal price. Consult our websites of these two places for additional details.

The Chicago Auto Show bus trip is coming up again in February. Last year we had some members who were disappointed because they could not get a place on the bus at the last minute. So please don’t delay if you really want to go this year because when we get close to the date, if the bus is not filled, we will again call on the Audi Club to help us out. It is not practical for us to lease an extra bus (of any size) at the last minute, so it’s going to be “first come, first served.”

If I could leave the membership of this club with one final wish as I close out my 3 year run as your President, it is this. However many events you attended in 2011, add one event to that list (any event you want). Attend one more event in 2012 than you did in 2011. Even if it’s only a Drive n’ Dine event three miles from your house, do it. If the majority of members in this club all do one more event than last year, you will see improvements for sure. And I guarantee you will make more friends in this club.

Jerry Zajicek

Vice-President and Immediate Past President
