It feels like Spring! Gives one the urge to uncover the stored vehicle or clean up the one we’ve been driving through the winter. Of course, the recent gas price hikes can put a damper on the euphoria. Nevertheless, let’s go for a ride!
We have opportunities coming soon for those who enjoy a ride in a quality automobile and for those who want to turn a wrench, whether it’s a major restoration, just tinkering, or something in between. In March, April, May, and June we have Drive ‘n’ Dine events.
In April Black Forest is hosting a Tech Session. A visit to Road America is planned for July. If you are looking for longer trips, the Ohio chapter is hosting a several day excursion in August, and our section is planning a four or five day trip to St. Louis’ Kemp Auto Museum with stops along the way. Watch for more information here and in the next few Badger Stars.
Keeping right in with an early Spring, it seems we have as many, if not more events on the calendar than in recent years. Jerry’s survey indicated some folks who don’t live in southeast Wisconsin have felt left out. In the next few months, we have events from Madison to Milwaukee to Green Bay, and places in between. Speaking of survey results, if you have something to say or to share, please let one of the board members know now. Don’t wait for the next survey. Over the past several years, I’ve met a number of members, but with almost 300 members in our section, there are many I’ve not met. I would really enjoy meeting as many as I can and would love to hear from you directly what you enjoy doing, what you think we could do better, or just sharing thoughts and ideas on a variety of topics.
By the way, did you know that there are Mercedes technicians available to readers of the STAR Magazine who are MBCA members? They will answer technical questions about your Mercedes. I was recently made aware of this membership benefit and will keep it in mind as I tinker.
I hope that by the time you read this we are not buried in a blizzard, but that you are enjoying a fine automobile and sharing that joy with like-minded folks.
